I recently got this macine with pretty much zero documentation. Anyone have a similar machine with documents they would share? Willing to compensate costs for a ladder. Fanuc 0MB control

It was a really good deal. I know enough and it came with enough to get it going. Just looking to fill in the gaps.
For example M21 and M22 turn on X and Y mirror image respectively but I have not found what turns them off. Now honestly, I doubt I’ll ever use mirror image but would like to know.

Sadly not that easy. I’ve gotten into the mid M40s trying it out. Often it’s not a great idea to just plug in all M codes on most machines. Many builders have M codes used for maintenance items and putting those in the wrong spot can cause troubles. Since this machine has no magazine or toolchanger it’s not likely there would be much to screw up

On our 2000 a88 it's m23.
m21 and m22 are indeed mirror image m-codes on it also.
... And in my experience, makino is pretty good at keeping many things the same across different machines.

Yes, it is a bit surprising that M23 does not turn it off.

I have one we bought new in 1995? and have a full set of manuals that came with it. Let me dig them out and see what it would take to get you what you need. My control is a OM, will that do you any good?

Probably. Mine is 89 and an 0MB control. Yours will be a 0MC or D, but I sure they would not have changed much.

Pretty standard M code list
M00
M01
M02
M03
M04
M05
M08
M09
M30
M48
M49
M98
M99
are all that are listed.
Where would the ladder diagram be listed?

It would likely be in the electric manual.

Thanks for the list. Do you have a description for M48 and M49? Interesting that your list does not show the M21 and M22 codes for X and Y mirror image. Also, my machine responds to M6 with a couple relay clicks but I’ve not gotten around to figuring out what is being activated.
If it came with a ladder diagram it may be in the electrical diagram but more likely a separate document. My electric diagram does not include the ladder and a 0MB cannot display it onscreen.

M48 Override cancel off. Cancels M49. Specify M48 when cancelling override cancel.
M49 Override cancel on. Specify M49 when clamping override at 100% during cutting feed regardless of override dial.
I have a handwritten note in the front of my electrical manual that says:
Parameter 60.2 displays Software ladder.
The electrical manual has a full list of parameters, then schematics, then servo data sheets, but I don't see a ladder.

Did you ask makino?
I am 80% sure you will get the runaround from them unless you pay for maintenance. However, we have had maintenance lapse in the past for years and they were once again helpful with sending a few documents we didn't have in our manual.
Not sure if it's because we previously had paid for maintenance and service.

The 0MB does not respond to parameter 60.2. That ability started with the 0MC.
Thanks for looking for a ladder. I’m not sure that Makino ever shipped machines with a hardcopy ladder. Most of their machines don’t use a ladder with machines starting with the 10,11,12 series controls. They use language based programming for those machines.

I’m trying to avoid calling them about it. I don’t want to waste their time chasing info for someone that’s never going to buy anything from them. I’m fairly good friends with the local Makino sales guy (having purchased about $5 million in machines from him over the years before I retired) but again don’t want to bum a favor when I have no plans to ever buy any new again.
The machine runs. Is in great shape. I have enough info and knowledge to keep it going for as long as I am going to need.
Appreciate the help guys!

Pro3 control here, 16iA. It also doesn't have a ladder. I guess it's easier for them to do what they do with a programming language instead.
Looking at my list, m48 and m49 are the same thing on the makino as well.
I googled and found the list for the pro3 control. https://www.helmancnc.com/makino-pro-3-m-codes-fanuc-16i18i/
Obviously most of those m-codes won't work for you, but some of them might (like your m21 m22, m48 m49, etc)
For example, I wonder if your rigid tap m-code would be M135 instead of M29 (assuming it has rigid tap option). Although, I'm not sure if a 0mb supports 3 digit m-codes. I haven't had a 0ma/b control in the shop for at least 12 years (there's a couple 0ta or 0tb's in the lathe dept though).

No rigid tapping on this machine. Not spec’d when new so missing some hardware required.
Did find that M23 does turn off mirror image. When I was trying all M codes the other day it did not. I suspect that one of the other M codes I tried must have screwed up something in the PMC and rebooting it cured the hang up.
