  1. Suggestion: Remove specific "Forum Games" posts from the "Recent Forum Posts" feed

    There are a lot of low effort topics in "Forum Games" that actively promote low effort spam and clog up the "Recent Forum Posts" feed. A few of the examples being: what's the first word you've got in mind ?Make a baseless lie about the person above you Say the most random thing you can think of! More power to anyone wanting to participate in these types of posts, but it'd be great if they didn't show up in our feed. I love checking the recent forum posts to see what games people are talking about. There were even times where I read a post for a game I had never heard of, only to go out later that day and get the game for myself. When I first discovered PSNP a few years ago, the feed is where I learned about some of the wonderful challenges/events that I now actively participate in myself. The feed is a great resource for people like myself who enjoy this niche hobby. I know I can go directly to the forums page and go through my topics of choice there, but it's not enjoyable seeing the same "Forum Game" posts constantly show up in my feed, many of which have nothing to do with video games or trophies. It'd be great to not have to dig through the spammier posts to find actual discussions about games and trophy hunting.

  2. Glitched Trophy Infos + Guides

    Since I have seen a lot of misinformations (or at least not 100% correct Informations) about some Trophy requirements and how they work rignt now (since some of them are bugged) here is a short overview about these bugged/glitched Trophies: Slot Maketh Module ~ Assign module socket types 10 timesLevel up 10 different Weapons or Descendants (or mixed) to Level 40Farm enough materials to craft 10 "Crystalization Catalyst"'s (or buy them for 300 Caliber each [5,19 - 5,69€ each, depending on which pack you bought])Upgrade all 10 Weapons/Descendants with these Catalysts back to back in one go. (Do this without closing the game)At this point the Trophy should pop without any Issues. Congrats! Out of Weapons ~ Dismantle weapons 50 timesFarm 50 Weapons (no matter of rarity, type, level, proficiency level)Select all 50 Weapons (or even more) and dismantle them at onceAt this point the Trophy should pop without any Issues. Congrats! I Can See the Future of the Colossi ~ Complete 10 Void Intercept BattlesGo to "Albion"Go to "Ingris Search Portal" (at the left side of the Albion spawn)Click on "Search Portal"Click on "Void Intercept Battle" (The pinkish Icons at the bottom left)Choose the first BossChoose Public MatchKill the BossRepeat the Boss 10 times back to back in one go. (Do this without closing the game)At this point the Trophy should pop without any Issues. Congrats!Reason for this Strat: To prevent all possible bugs in this trophy you need to do the same boss 10 times in a row in the same mode. The first Boss is the easiest and will be killed in no time in a public lobby so this is the easiest strat to get the Trophy in general and the best to prevent bugs! Good Things Happen Twice ~ Succesfully remove Colossi parts 2 times (excluding Retrieve the Ironheart operation)Follow the same first 4 Steps as in "I Can See the Future of the Colossi"Choose Private MatchDamage the weak points of the Boss until they are goldenUse your Grappling Hook to grab that weak point and mount the bossPress R2 for Damage, when it is starting shaking hold L2 to be safeRepeat this until you destroyed 2 of these weak points after you grappled onto themAt this point the Trophy should pop without any Issues. Congrats!You don't need to do 2 of them in the same boss fight but some people needed to do 2 of them in the same session (so without closing the game) for some others however it popped normally after the second one even after closing the game in between. Execute Order 77 ~ Dismantle modules 77 timesFarm 77 Modules (no matter of rarity etc.)Select all 77 Modules (or even more) and dismantle them at onceAt this point the Trophy should pop without any Issues. Congrats! And Combining, to Boot ~ Combine modules 7 timesReach Mastery Rank 9Farm ~40 Modules (just to be safe)Combine 4 Modules 7 times at "Silion" back to back (Do this without closing the game)See if the Trophy pops (if not thats why you should have farmed more than needed)If Trophy pops: Congrats!If Trophy doesn't pop: Combine more modules until the Trophy pops which shouldn't take more than 3 times from now on.At this point the Trophy should pop without any Issues. Congrats!     #150 Difficulty: 6/10 Enjoyment: 9/10 Grind: 2/10 Time: 68 Hours Rarity: [Ultra Rare 0.5% / Ultra Rare 2.95%] Milestone: 150th Platinum "But soon they shall know this devil's power." THIS IS SPECIAL! DMC4 Is my favorite dmc game and one of my most cherished games I've played as a kid. DMC4 was one of the first games I've played on the ps3, and I still remember it like yesterday. When I saw Nero and Dante in this game I was so amazed by them and I wanted to be as cool as them, I remember when I saw the amazing cutscenes DMC4 has and seeing how crazy they get, I couldn't believe what I was seeing, and with the ingenuity of a kid I wondered if that was possible in real life hahaha, damn... how time flies. Those times I really cherish, so melodramatic lol. So being that DMC4 is a very special game to me, it was obvious I was going to go for the plat at some point, this is a plat I truly wanted from the moment I saw it. But, and I'm not gonna lie, I was really intimidated by it. I knew that after my plat 100, I would go for DMC4 and do it my platinum #150 no matter what, so these last 49 platinums were a warm up for DMC4 plat. I had a lot of fun coming back to DMC4, at first I felt like I was going to be very rusty since I haven't played a DMC since I platinum 5, but once I got into the action, man demons started flying hahaha. It took me 12 hours on Devil Hunter (normal) with all secret missions. These secret mission were the reason it took me so long to beat the game, some were really tricky. Now it's time for the real deal, the time to talk about S ranking every difficulty, this seems is gonna be tough but... is it? If you are attempting this plat, you have to keep in mind a few things. 1) You don't have to be a master and a god in gaming to get it. 2) You have a lot of tools to make your life easier, Lady and Trish are going to earn you the plat, I see a lot of people saying not to play with the girls and they say that Trish is bad for s ranks and blah blah blah, people that say that Trish is bad for S Ranking they clearly haven't played DMC1 or didn't took the time to learn her move set, Trish is basically Dante from DMC1 but 1000% better. You also have the DLC's, which includes Super Costumes, this helps for Bloody Palace but not for S Ranking. 3) This is not the hardest DMC to S rank, people also say this game ranking system sucks and that the requirements are stupid. That's bs honestly, this is one of the easiest DMC games to get and S rank, assuming you play with Lady/Trish, the requirements are only time, orbs and stylish points. The higher the difficulty level you get more time to finish a level, on DMD you get like 40 minutes for a mission you can clear in less than 20 minutes, this gives you a lot of time to go farm orbs or stylish points, people also complain about the orbs requirements saying that you have to break everything in the whole level to get it, sure you have to break stuff but you don't have to worry about where is every breakable object in the area. And on top of that, you don't get penalized for using items, using items only voids you from a bonus that isn't that important for a s rank, but it doesn't penalize you like dying and using a continue, this is what actually screw your s rank, so you can use all the items you want if you are having troubles. 4) If you are a veteran or a experienced DMC player this plat is going to be no trouble. There are a lot of this mechanics that makes this platinum more manageable, for someone new to the series sure this is going to be tough but with practice and patience anyone can get it. And for the love of Sparda, don't play on turbo mode if you aren't that good on the game, take your time since in the end an incredible platinum awaits you. S ranking Devil Hunter was stupidly easy with Lady and Trish, this is was my first time playing with them and I loved they combat style, specially Lady's (the love of my life). It took me 9 hours and I got S rank on my first try for most of the missions. I retried like 3 or 4 max. S ranking Son of Sparda was easy too, only mission 14 I had to retried it 3 times the rest came in the first try. One advantage this game has is that missions are very short and you get more time on higher difficulties, you get like 30 minutes to get s rank on time hahaha very cool. I also did all bosses with SSS rank, this was easy too. This run took me another 8 hours. Dante Must Die. S ranking this mode was a complete breeze with the girls. DMD is the hardest difficulty in DMC game, enemies are tougher and have Devil Triggers, if you are a veteran and an experienced DMC player you know the deal. But in this game, S ranking DMD is not that hard. Like I said, in this game you don't get penalized for using items, the way items affect your final score is by getting a bonus for not using items, which is not that important for S ranks, so this means you can use all the items you feel like and don't lose you precious S rank. And being honest you are only going to start using items on DMD if you are decent enough. So this helps a lot on bosses and on critical situations, at this point if you have the dlc that adds currency to your game you should have over 1 million red orbs to buy items and help you out. And trust me they help a ton, for me this has been one of the easiest DMD to S rank in all Devil May Cry games, even easier than DMC3. LDK was one of the easiest to S rank. Took me 4 hours, one thing about this mode is that with 2 or 3 battles you have more than enough stylish points to get an S, so you can skip unnecessary battles to speed things up, you don't need 50k stylish points hahaha. Now I only need to S rank Human mode and then finish Heaven and Hell & Hell and Hell and then is time for Bloody Palace. Going to take a break for a day. S ranking story mode. This has been one of the easiest DMC games I've S ranked, I got almost 95% of all missions S Ranked on the first try so pretty easy, S ranking is mostly just time consuming. Heaven & Hell and Hell & Hell took me 6 hours to do. I had a harder time S ranking DMC5. Now all that remains is Bloody Palace stuff. This took me like 15 hours approximately, this is were things can get tricky, but if you got all the S ranks with no problems Bloody Palace is going to be little to no match for you devil hunter. One particular trophy that may seem very scary is Untouchable, for killing Dante, last boss of bloody place, without getting hit or taking damage, the first time I tried it was with Vergil with Super Costume and I got robbed because I killed Dante no hit and I didn't get the trophy, I think the game glitched on me because for a time Dante froze and didn't move, or I got hit by a damn stray bullet and receive 0.00001% of damage. I tried it like 5 times with Vergil, but it was just a waste of time since Dante always hit me with his guns so I tried it with Dante and I got it on my first try. This trophy isn't skill related is more rng based, and the only "hard part" about it is putting an hour to reach Dante and try again. But using Dante is the easiest way to get it, it's very rare that Dante starts shooting right from the start so using Dante you can easily kill it with Pandora's disaster in a matter of seconds. You can use the super costumes for Dante/Vergil/Nero, making their runs just a matter of time. But for Lady/Trish you'll have to do it legit. Like I've said if you got the S ranks with the girls you can do bloody palace but Trish run is going to be the hardest, this is were my nerves went though the roof, I died on stage 36 I believe, but I got it done with Trish one my second attempt. The scary part on Trish run are the Blitz's, but if you play well with Trish you can definitely beat Bloody Palace, so take your time and don't let the nerves get ya. For me, doing bloody palace with Trish was the equivalent of getting the no damage bonus on mission 8 from DMC5, this 2 moments were pure nerves, but I had an easier time with DMC4. Lady's run is very easy if you move well and know the character, for the most part of her bloody palace run I've only needed level 3 shotguns and good movement to reach the end. I left Lady's Bloody Palace for last since I was pretty confident playing with her, though it took me 2 tries, and not because I died at some point with her, the game saw I was just 5 damn stages away from the plat so it decided to play dirty and glitched, leaving a big black screen and ruining my run, I'll leave a video on the hidden content, I wasn't mad about this but I was like, really DMC4??? I'm not going to say that this plat is easy or that is incredibly hard, it depends a lot on your skill level and the knowledge you have on DMC games, but is not a platinum designed to make you fail, if you take your time to learn you can get it, there is an "easy way" for getting most trophies, like getting SSS on bosses. You have a lot of tools and mechanics to help you out and a lot of information around too, for veterans/experienced players this is going to be a decent challenge, and for newcomers this is gonna prove more than a challenge, but like I've said, with practice and patience anyone can get it, if you want to get all the DMC games platinum a tip I can give you is to start from the bottom, you can do the 3 first games twice and get 6 plats there and a lot of practice and when you reach DMC4 & 5 do 5 first, DMC5 is hard too but the gameplay there is incredible so when you finish it you are going well prepared for DMC4, because if you can plat DMC5 you can do 4 and viceversa. If you are going for this platinum never forget that Devils Never Cry and You Shall Never Surrender!

  4. The Ultra Rare Cleanup 2024

    Finished a bonus game, Red Dead Redemption II! Also my 100th platinum!!!!!!!! This is really, really special game. Words can't describe how much I loved the Red Dead journey. I initially began gaming at all with the PS1 and 2 as a kid, but having moved to the Xbox consoles in the 2010's, I came back to PlayStation in 2019. I've been playing on here for 5 years. Half a decade. And it's all culminated with the big 100! There's so much beauty in this game- while there is a narrative progression on the themes of "redemption", I adore how Rockstar conveys this through the vastness of the American Frontier; RDR2 has you engage with the sprawling city of Saint Denis, carried by a cultural hotbed of hundreds of people working to make a living; you've got women fighting for the right to vote, you have those who bask in wealth enjoying the fine arts, you've got dastardly individuals who commit crimes through the alleyways, running away from lawmen.Even the saloon, which has gentlemanly figures donned with suits and ties hitting it big with some gambling or enjoying a fine drink is starkly contrasted by the urban town of Valentine, a personification of the atypical spaghetti western locale whose saloon is more drunken and tomfoolish- this is even communicated through some random encounters where drunken townsfolk will beg you to point them which way to get home.You've got Annesburg, which has teenagers and adults with nothing left, practically slaving away in the mines, and this is further exemplified by the town's waters being bogged with oil, compared to the lush rivers present elsewhere across the world; it's these small details that really set apart each area. The story fills you with hope, tragedy, and the renewal of aspirations that push the characters forward. Across RDR1 and RDR2, civilisation is sweeping in. The world has cast outlaws aside. Do Arthur Morgan and John Marston fight nature? Do they fight change? Do they fight against the gravity of it all? What will civilization challenge them with- or rather- what will they strive to become in an ever-changing world? Please, please play this game. I've reached 100 platinums now, but this one here is remarkable, simply remarkable. I'd already finished my tier, but I'll have this down to get another point! 1. Trackmania 2020 (PS5) - 1.10% - DONE 2. Jet Car Stunts (PS3) - 4.37% - DONE 3. Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds - 1.79% - DONE 4. Grand Theft Auto IV (100%) - 0.49% - DONE 5. BlazBlue: Centralfiction - 3.19% - DONE BONUS: Red Dead Redemption II - 2.49% - DONE

    Dead Space Remake (PS5) Time for completion: 47 hrs Experienced this classic during three (3) enjoyable, tense play throughs. Since I’ve never played the original; my first run was on a medium difficulty. Completely blind, spoiler free which is how I like to approach any survivor horror game. Lights off, 3D audio headphones, volume up - complete sensory overload. Terrifying, immersive, and memorable are the words that come to mind when I reflect. 2nd play through on NG+ was to mop up collectibles on story mode and to get the respective NG+ trophy plus alternative ending. The last play though was on the impossible difficulty, which ended up being my way run. Only died 4 times mostly because I was getting impatient in the latter chapters when the hordes were getting dense. Fortunately, I saved my permadeath treatment with the ol’ pause, exit, start over technique before it registered any of the reckless deaths. I’m not great at survivor horror genres, so I was proud of myself. Strong recommendation ONLY if you like these types of games.

  8. The Ultra Rare Cleanup 2024

    Tier 2 1. Gran Turismo 5 (0.54%) Most difficult game I've completed and also the worst grind I've completed. Having to hit level 40 in both A Spec and B Spec is a horrible grind, B Spec is just managing an AI driver through races so you can be AFK for most of it but it takes much longer to get the required xp than A Spec. I was at level 31 when I decided to work out the most efficient way of grinding to level 40 and realised I still had 235 hours left to do, for A Spec I was at level 34 when I'd done pretty much everything there is to do in the game and still had 40 hours of farming xp left and because you actually have to do the racing yourself it was just as painful as B Spec, I know xp was easier to get when the online was still available but the amount needed is just stupidly excessive, the same goes for trophies like buying 1000 cars or getting a B spec driver to 500 wins. Overall the game is mostly pretty easy, there's a couple of things I would rate at a 7 or maybe 8 but really most of the difficulty comes from the Vettel challenges (which you can use glitches to make easier so really I just made this unnecessarily hard for myself) 😂 Recorded my replays for 2 of the 3 Vettel golds, didn't bother with Monza as it was way easier than the others (ironically it's meant to be the hardest one to glitch) Not sure exactly how many hours it took me but I would guess 30 to 40 for Nurburgring and then double that for Suzuka so I struggled badly compared to how long most people I've seen say it took them to do, I ended up taking a 3 week break from trying Suzuka and then beat it a day or 2 after coming back to it. There was plenty of times where I was tempted to just glitch them but in the end I'm glad I didn't as it's made me a lot more confident about trying things like Trackmania or Assetto Corsa in the future.   9. The Ultra Rare Cleanup 2024

    Tier 2 complete! (0.79%) Hawken 💯 - May 20th(2.82%) flOw (PS4) 💯 - May 24th(2.16%) flOw (PS3) 💯 - May 25th(3.78%) flOw (PS VITA) 💯 - May 26th(1.17%) Brawlout - June 30thTen games complete as we reach the halfway point of the year, pretty happy with that! Another ten would be a really solid year of gaming put down, have plenty to choose from going forward. I definitely want to chuck in a few more time extensive games as the year progresses. Hawken - A very quick and easy F2P 100%. It's an online mech game that is pretty much dead, but you're able to match up against bots which enables you to obtain most of the trophies solo. Everything can be done in a few hours, with only three of them requiring a boosting partner. I've seen it on the lists of a few other participants and said I might as well play it too! flOw (x3) - I had access to all three stacks since I bought Journey Collector's Edition so I figured why not complete them all. It's a decent game, very short, but doesn't really compare to Journey or Flower. Those are way more memorable for sure. You essentially use the motion controls to navigate your way through levels that are stacked in layers, that are filled with either food, enemy creatures, or both. Your goal is to make it to the final layer and eat the level complete egg. PS3 version is the easiest as you can perform a glitch install to cheese four of the trophies just by beating the final level. On top of that, you can also add a second controller to help with the toughest trophy, Cannibalism. PS4 version is slightly more difficult as there's no way to glitch the install, but you're still able to add a second controller to help with the two bogey trophies, the aforementioned Cannibalism and Vegetarian. The Vita stack is a different story as there is no way to cheese any of the trophies. It ends up being a difficult, frustrating 100% to achieve. I ended up doing both of the bogey trophies on the first stage. Vegetarian wasn't too bad in the end, but Cannibalism really tested my patience. This trophy asks you to eat every advanced creature while simultaneously avoiding eating any food. Some of the creatures towards the end are a real pain in the ass to eat, and if they attack you they hit you back up a layer where your at risk of eating food once more. I got there eventually, but I'd probably recommend avoiding this version if you value your sanity 😂 Brawlout - Rarely play fighting games but this one caught my eye as it had couch co-op trophies so I said I'd go for it. It has a bunch of boring trophies, with the challenge coming from the three tower trophies, the hard arcade tower in particular. Thankfully you can exit the game and retain your progression otherwise this would've been a very difficult completion. You need to complete 165 couch games, 75 ranked games and win 300 1v1 games (600 total with a boosting partner). My final playtime was 25 hours, but it certainly felt longer than that!

    Tier 5 completed: Baja: Edge of Control HD (1.93%) 100%Battlefield 3 (2.71% / 0.89%) 100%Dirt 3 (2.60% / 1.10%) 100%EA Sports FC 24 (1.67%) 100%Magicka 2 (1.34%) 100% Baja: Edge of Control is a decent off-road racing game, the handling feels good and the soundtrack is what stands up the most imo. Unfortunately, the trophies are buggy, they'll start acting weird after you get Mille Bournes, popping at random times after you meet the requirement and even needing a manual sync on your profile from time to time. Luckily, at least for me, nothing fully glitched and everything eventually popped. There's a little grind towards Deux Mille Bournes at the end, but nothing is hard as long as you make sure to never upgrade your vehicle. I wasn't planning on doing Battlefield 3 at first since I can't complete the entire series anyway, but I thought that it'd be fun to play with some friends and it'd also be kinda of a shame to miss COD biggest competitor at the time. The campaign is alright, the co-op is really fun and the multiplayer is... too slow for my liking. The hardest difficult on both campaign and co-op was pretty easy and you can boost everything (with the exception of one ribbon) with 4 players in the MP. Dirt 3 is a banger, hands down one of the best racing games that I've played. The handling, the physics, the tracks, the atmosphere, the soundtrack, everything felt so good. The multiplayer trophies weren't that bad, you can AFK for around 15 hours for one trophy and get the rest done in less than 3 hours. DiRT Tour is where you'll spend most of the time, there are a lot of races to do. Since you can do everything on the lowest difficulty, the races themselves are easy. The hardest part is getting platinum on DC Challenges (special events like stunts, speedrun, drift, etc.), some of them have a tight time. I already talked about EA Sports FC 24 when I completed the PS4 version, at the time I auto-popped the grindy UT trophies and re-did everything with the exception of Clubs trophies, since I'd need to boost them again. I'll try to keep up with this series, and that means all the stacks too. I've played Magicka 2 with a friend and we had a lot of fun, the amount of stuff that you can do gameplay-wise on this game is insane. We left our lobbies open and two legends came in, Eredil and Ovinnik, they carried the sh*t out of us on the hardest difficulty. The skill gap is insane, the amount of crazy stuff that these two pulled of was wild, it was like watching magic (or should I say magick? haha) tricks. --- What's next? Bloodhunt and both stacks of BF4.

  11. The Ultra Rare Cleanup 2024

    Assetto Corsa Competizione, my fourth Tier 2 game completed. The graphics and gameplay are top-notch and a significant upgrade compared to the first installment, but from a trophy-hunting perspective, it falls far behind its predecessor. 80% of the time spent toward the platinum involves repeating the same career path three times, and the only difference is the length of the races. Whereas the first Assetto Corsa game had tons of challenging content in various cars and tracks (AC had some long tedious races too), ACC only has one challenging hotlap, and I completed it in a few tries compared to the first game, where it took days to learn and perfect the Nordschleife in the Alfa Romeo 4C or the McLaren P1 hypercar, for example. There are no real challenges in ACC other than the eight tests in career mode, but they are not super difficult. Nevertheless, if you are into Sim Racing, the game itself is great. It's just more tedious from a trophy-hunting perspective. I still enjoyed the game throughout, but the main focus here relies more on extremely long races and not as much on super-fast hotlaps. Also, the developers, for some reason, refuse to fix the broken trophies. They have been broken for many months because the online special events did not work. Eventually, it got fixed, but in the process, the career mode trophies became unobtainable. This means you need a physical disc to be able to play on the current version as well as an earlier patch. But at least the PS5 platinum is now obtainable for people with a physical copy of the game. A huge thanks to @Destructor-8 for taking the time to explain everything to me. It's greatly appreciated.     #72 - Kena: Bridge of Spirits Rating: 9/10 Difficulty: 5/10 I adored this one; Kena is a heartfelt and joyous experience. The art style is dripping with vibrance and colour, expertly crafted with Pixar-esque precision and love, and the score is - plainly - sensational; varying from playfully fluty to chorally haunting. The narrative is quite simple, but I found it to be - almost surprisingly - astute, emotionally resonant, and very well-delivered. On numerous occasions, I really felt something, which was quite interesting off the back of A Plague Tale, which elicited almost no strong feelings from me at any point. Platforming is basic, as is exploration, but there is just something so so satisfying in both. You are consistently coming across collectibles, which offer minor enjoyment or considerable improvement to your combat ability. On that note, combat is a touch rudimentary but very serviceable, with a few upgrades providing some much-needed and enjoyable latitude. As thoroughly ventilated by the community, there is a fairly steep difficulty curve. I elected to pursue Master difficulty on NG+, which would ordinarily seem to be the most plausible approach. However, the scaling in NG+ somewhat nullified my upgraded outfit. I had a few tricky encounters that required many retries, but I never found myself stuck; at all times, I felt like I could and would succeed against any boss or enemy mob. The challenge can definitely prove frustrating, but more unfortunately, it illuminates the simplicity of the combat system and requires one to invoke certain overpowered attacks (looking at you Rot Bomb and Dash). An absolute pleasure to play, made with the most obvious sincerity and love.

    #313: The Dragon of Dojima - Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name I bought Infinite Wealth and figured it as good as time as any to play this too so I can now be caught up whenever I decide to play Infinite Wealth. My understanding is this was supposed to be a DLC for Yakuza 7 but became its own thing and despite it not being very big it does have a fair amount of content even if it mostly takes place in Sotenbori and the Castle area. There is also the new combat style with the gadgets that I can see originally being intended for the turn-based combat of Y7, which in a way I feel like is kind of doubling down on the whole over-the-top and whacky side of Yakuza especially with the rocket shoes but they are fun to use at least. The story though also short also serves a nice bridge between Yakuza 6 to 8 and the ending hit pretty hard especially since the credits starts playing the piano version of Amazing Grace which feels like a callback to Yakuza 1. It was also cool seeing Kiryu's side of the dissolution scene that happens in Yakuza 7 and I love how the final boss fight is kind of like the one in Yakuza 5 where you are fighting through the Tojo Clan Headquarters only this time it's the Omi building. I definitely look forward to playing Infinite Wealth and seeing how all the events in that unfold and hopefully Kiryu gets something of a damn break. On top of constant emotional turmoil the man has been repeatedly shot, stabbed, and had to deal with tons of nonsense from the countless substories since at least 1988 with barely any time to settle down. The only other thing left is the trophies which pretty much everyone knows this is one of the easiest trophy lists for Yakuza because there isn't a Completion List or even a Legend Difficulty trophy. It is kind of interesting though since they definitely could have since there are the usual mini-games where they could have added a trophy for completing them all, including beloved Pocket Circuit. You don't have to but I did at least the Pocket Circuit events and I'm glad I did because there is something of a payoff when you beat all the rivals you can. The only real grind in this one is the Coliseum stuff but it isn't that bad. I actually liked the Hell Rumble thing even if I had a hard time hearing myself think with the party setup I had especially with Mr. masoch*st constantly going "LET'S GOOOOO" every few seconds on top of the constant explosions and hitting sounds. That said if you've played the other Yakuza games this is a short but sweet experience especially if you went through Yakuza 0 all the way to 5 and for me I also include Ishin because no way would I have started this so soon if it were anywhere near that long. But it felt like a nice sendoff to a game where Kiryu is the main character, at least that's how it seems. Some of the callbacks were cool, like how one of the arena fights is where you fight robot versions of all the bosses Kiryu fought in the previous games and it plays their respective themes. I did it twice just to hear Fly and For Who's Sake.

    Demon’s Souls Remake (PS5) Time for Completion: 36 hrs Huge thank you to @Optinooby for your thorough and masterly crafted YouTube guide. That served as my North Star to understand how to manipulate the world and character tendencies. But most importantly, how to construct one powerful hyper build mage. This is one game that I actually enjoyed the NG+ play through more than my original run. I spent the initial journey mostly learning and trying not to get one shotted. The map designs didn’t really click with me, so I got disoriented a few times too. With Dark Souls 3, I can close my eyes right now, and vividly remember every level/map/floor/shortcut. Playing as an OP mage was a fun and efficient way to get the platinum, but I prefer playing Dark Souls 3 as a tanky, high strength/vitality build with a ridiculous 🗡️ at hand. Just my preference. Overall, it was a fun experience. I don’t think I would’ve wanted to torture myself to get the platinum blind without using all the invaluable resources available online though.

  15. Don't buy any skins with titanium bolts if you are going for the platinum

    According to u/DefinitelyLevi on Reddit (thanks to him), if you spend any titanium bolt to buy any skin they will be deducted from the total you have for the trophy, and you need to have 10 and 20 bolts on you for their respective trophies. Apparently, for the trophy tracker they are using the counter for the bolts you have on you right now instead of using a counter that adds up the bolts you earned on each planet. So each bolt you spend will be deducted from the counter for the trophy. So, if you want the platinum and also want to buy some skins, firstly you should get the respective trophies and then you can safely spend those titanium bolts. Again, thanks to u/DefinitelyLevi on Reddit for the information, I'm just cross posting the finding to here so more people can be aware of it.

    #314: The Limits of the Possible - The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (PS5 next-gen update) Since the next-gen update also came with an extra set of trophies I figured why not stack it. It could also be seen as my thinly veiled excuse to play Gwent again. This also meant I could have turned on all the bonus stuff but I think the only thing I turned on were the extra Gwent card pictures since they looked cool. And no I didn't turn on anything from the Netflix show, including the ballsack looking armor for Nilfgaard. I realize this is devastating news but if I may be allowed to plead my defense I just can't take that armor seriously especially in comparison to how good the actual Nilfgaard armor looks so I can't turn it on without it breaking my immersion. That said I had intended to replay The Witcher 3 for a while, mainly before playing Cyberpunk and I figured with all the updates done to the game it would sort of feel like playing a new game. I only got to briefly experience these updates when I played the DLC's when they came out but I already got the Platinum for it. Despite not playing it for a while the game felt noticeably different from all the combat and UI changes so it's interesting seeing how different it was compared to when it first came out. The combat feels more balanced than when I last played it even on Death March. I remember a few fights including a couple contract monsters being really difficult because of wonky hitboxes. The ones in particular being Nithral in the main story where even with me being a few levels above at the time he would wreck me because his hitbox when he would block with his axe doing a ton of damage for some reason. The other being Sarasti from one of the contracts for about the same reason although I remember it being a lot worse because it would practically instakill me and I remember leaving that fight alone until I was overleveled. This time around I managed to beat them both fairly easily on the first try on Death March and my equipment wasn't on the verge of breaking constantly so that also feels like something that was tuned up. It also probably helps that the way the upgrades and mutagen system works now can make some pretty powerful builds if you know how to make them. I went with the Wolven School Build from this video and while it takes a while to get the armor required, even getting a couple skills listed I managed to handle most fights just fine early on. That said it was great going through this game again and it felt like a new experience with the updates so I managed to do some quests that originally weren't in such as the one in Devil's Pit where it was originally just a bandit camp but then became its own quest where you can get some Witcher gear from it. It almost felt like I was playing the game for the first time again but it was nice going through all the moments and making choices that I am fairly sure I messed up on in the first two playthroughs. The main choice I really remember messing up with was the romance one because for some reason I thought I could get away with both Triss and Yennefer the last time I played it. This time however I went with neither of them. I know the canon choice is supposed to be Yennefer because they are bound by fate and somesuch but the game lets me choose and I just see the relationship with Yennefer as toxic along with other things she does in the story that I don't really like. As far as Triss I'm aware of what she did in the books and so that's why I didn't really see either of them as good for Geralt. But thankfully, Geralt had me as his invisible wingman and guided him to the path of Shani. Unfortunately, kind of like Mass Effect 2, the romance option I just so happen to like is basically just a one-off thing. However I do get Shani's reasoning for not committing since her and Geralt lead different lives but I like to think that after the Blood and Wine DLC she eventually comes around especially since Geralt does get a house for her to be in. The DLC's are also fantastic, with Hearts of Stone adding a great story with Olgierd and introducing Gaunter O'Dimm. Blood and Wine is a proper expansion with a whole new map to explore and in general feels like both a love letter to the series and the fans. They are what I like in a DLC where they feel like they actually add more to the game and make it feel like a bigger world. It actually felt kind of weird going from Toussaint and back to the main game because of how different it is. There isn't much to say about the trophies since I had done them already but I admit I did dread doing the miscellaneous trophies like getting fifty headshots with a crossbow and such because of how tedious they are but this time around they weren't too bad and I don't know if it's because I remember them differently or the updates made it more bearable. I also think it helped that the king himself @Optinooby made a playlist for the Platinum/100% and showed a few spots that made getting them more efficiently. As far as Death March goes it felt easier this time around and it's probably because of the build I went with and the other combat updates. However it's not exactly a walk in the park from the get go as there is still something of a learning curve but it's mostly early on. I think the hardest part is trying to get your footing where you have a decent amount of healing items and money because some side-quests are going to be pretty tough even if you are the same level as them. I think it's best to focus on the story quests at first and if you feel like you can, do a side quest or two but the main story quests aren't so difficult even though I expected them to be. Once you get to Novigrad, the game gets a lot more manageable and that is probably because at that point you are mostly fighting human enemies and you can sell weapons to the armorer in Hierarch Square for a good amount of money to buy food and whatever else. There is also a side-quest with Triss where you attend a ball and can loot tons of food from the tables. The only other thing is the missable trophies of which there are a fair amount but I think as long as you are aware of them and how to get them as soon as you can they aren't too bad. This includes the Gwent cards which I managed to get pretty easily since I loved playing Gwent but I think with recent updates they made some of the missable cards obtainable. If it wasn't obvious I love this game and I loved playing it again. Just a beautifully well done game through and through and in a way it's also kind of a somber feeling putting it down again, but I guess if I really want to I could buy the Complete Edition which has its own trophy list to get that third stack. Can't recommend the game enough to those that haven't played it yet and I also need to do my part in creating more Gwent addicts. Oh alright Ciri, I'll get to ordering Cyberpunk 2077.

    Tier 1 - DuckTales (2.55%) One of gaming's all-time greats given another chance at life with a loving remaster? Count me in! WayForward seriously went all out in remastering this NES classic with visuals that match the late 80s cartoon, an original story that incorporates tons of classic characters, new levels, totally reworked bosses, and they even got quite a few members of the original voice cast to reprise their roles (considering that the show ran from 1987-1990 and the remaster didn't arrive on the scene until over 20 years later in 2013, getting anyone to reprise their roles is incredible)! I know we're here for the UR trophies, but goddamn. We could just as easily have received a cold, calculating remaster with the Scrooge-like intention of cashing in on a nostalgic IP, but we got this absolute work of art that honors and celebrates the source material instead. All my gushing aside, the reason DuckTales sits squarely in UR territory is because of one especially troublesome trophy, "Smarter than the Smarties", which is awarded for beating the game on Extreme difficulty. Extreme difficulty is a step above the game's Normal and Hard difficulties in that it restricts the number of health containers you're able to pick up (limited to five), disables the map, increases the health pool of bosses, and, most terrifying of all, prevents you from saving the game. Considering that the game is 2-3 hours long even when you know exactly where to go, that's one hell of an ask. Thankfully, there's a generous helping of extra lives at your disposal if you know where to look (check the trophy guide's linked extra life video!) which helps make the run much easier to manage. Though extra lives will only get you so far without a bit of luck. On my first successful run, I beat the final boss and the game crashed during one of the last skippable cinematics. I was heartbroken, but I skipped every cutscene as soon as I possibly could the second time around and didn't experience any further crashes. Most actually recommend not skipping any cutscenes to avoid crashes... but I guess I lucked out. The game's a treasure and one of my favorites I've played this year. I hope you give it a look if you have it in your backlog and have an urge to give your PS3 one last hurrah! Tier 1 - Mega Man 10 (1.61%) In the trophy hunting space, Mega Man 10 is really only remembered for one thing: The infamous "Mr. Perfect" trophy. This trophy, awarded for beating the entire game without taking damage, is, at least on paper, a seemingly herculean task fit for masters of the run-and-gun genre. Not dying is one thing, but not letting one stray bullet graze your fragile blue frame for the entirety of the game's run time is another. It's just... when you get to the long list of "buts" associated with earning the trophy, you start to see the cracks in this "perfect" façade. Did I, and everybody else that earned this trophy, beat the game without taking damage? Sure... but: - I got to play on "Easy" mode which reduced the number of enemies in each stage, simplified boss patterns, and even covered up most insta-kill traps (like spikes or bottomless pits) with convenient little platforms. - I got to save in-between each stage, even the Wily stages, so I never had to be perfect for more than a few minutes at a time. - I got to use Proto Man instead of Mega Man which meant I got a charge shot, a sliding dash, and a nifty shield. - I followed the video walkthrough linked in the trophy guide which gave me plenty of strategies for getting through each stage without a scratch. Now, while not exactly "perfect," earning the Mr. Perfect trophy is still quite challenging. Wily Stage 4 in particular demands you beat all 8 robot masters and a 2-phase Wily fight without a hit, which can take serious practice even for experienced Mega Man players. I also had a hard time getting through the stages for Solar Man and Commando Man on account of all the little hazards that can ruin your runs. But I persisted and even took a picture of the trophy popping to celebrate. You'd think with me having a Mega Man avatar that I'd have earned this trophy long ago! --- Tier 1 Superbeat Xonic (2.73%) DuckTales (2.55%) ✅ Mega Man 10 (1.61%) ✅ ??? (TBA) ??? (TBA)

  18. The Ultra Rare Cleanup 2024

    Started Tier 3. Decided to start bringing my Madden plats up to date. I should certainly find therapy, as this is an exercise in willpower against repetition and boredom, topped off my sheer frustration at a seemingly totally random trophy. Total grind time here was about 75 hours for 5 trophies, bringing your avatar to max level in 5 positions using Franchise mode. Thankfully, these were the only trophies that auto pop across platforms. 3 of the positions were somewhat faster, at about 10-12 hours each and the other 2 were closer to 20 hours each. Just mindlessly playing seasons, repeating the same play over and over and over and over and over and over. It is pretty much the definition of an easy trophy list with a huge, painful grind. Almost no skill is needed to get any trophy, just a lot of time and patience. And then, there is the PS5 exclusive trophy "Clean the Pile", which, once you understand what you it requires, is not difficult. It requires a specific animation to trigger, randomly which then needs to be followed by a very carefully timed and placed animation to be triggered by the player. 8 hours across 4 sessions later, trophy finally popped. I have not been so frustrated by a trophy in a very long time. I can usually deal with time consuming or difficult trophies. I remember "Beat Phil" from Geometry Wars 3 being particularly elusive or stupidly trying to defend the camp in DA:I underleveled in Nightmare to earn "Trial of the Fool." Those required skill mixed with a bit of luck. I knew what to do, it was a matter of making it happen. "Clean the Pile" is just RNG garbage after a long grind. Good news is, I am one year closer to caught up for Madden with my first couple sub 1% trophies and platinums. Bad news is, I have already downloaded Madden NFL 24, which are even longer grinds with the exact same trophies. 24 has double the levels or about 300% more EXP to earn alone. Let's call this my Madden tier and see if I ever want to play video games again after it is over, shall we?     #54 Bloodborne (PS4) Bloodborne All trophies acquired. Hats off! Bloodborne is simply one of my favourite games of all-time. Not only did it introduce me to an entirely new genre I love in Soulslikes, but the game just seems to get better and better with each subsequent playthrough. I remember the first time I ever played it, it was a late night on a whim. I went in completely blind and got my ass kicked for the first hour or so, I just kept dying over and over again, I got very close to actually deleting the game because I thought "This is just way too hard for me" but man am I so glad I actually decided to stick it out and learn how these games work. When the combat and gameplay finally *clicks* for you, it's one of the most satisfying feelings you'll ever experience in gaming. I would have never built up the courage to try Dark Souls if it had not been for Bloodborne first and they all ended up being some of the best games I have ever played on any system. They give you experiences like nothing else, the games are an absolute journey in sense of satisfaction, thrill, accomplishment and discovery. I think what really sets apart Bloodborne for me compared to the other FromSofware games is the world design and the atmosphere, where it just absolutely excels and the gothic horror themes are absolutely incredible to me. It touches on so many things I love in other forms of entertainment. It took me a while to actually get this Platinum, but early last week I was looking through my trophy list and I realised I was actually a lot closer to finishing Bloodborne than I initially thought surprisingly. I only had a few trophies I had to focus on throughout my playthrough such as the missable stuff like the Hunter's Weapons and Tools and the Yharnam, Pthumerian Queen boss and mostly everything else just came down to the endings which are easy enough to get by backing up your save in the PS Plus cloud. I thoroughly enjoyed going through this game again and being more confident facing most of the bosses aswell. I am super proud to finally have this platinum on my profile.

  20. The Ultra Rare Cleanup 2024

    Tier 1 - Superbeat: Xonic I told myself I'd only enter this year's UR cleanup if I could complete at least one of the last few games on my trophy hunting bucket list... and, well, I finished one! Superbeat: Xonic is a no-nonsense rhythm game developed by some of the same fiendish minds that brought you DJMax and, as that name might suggest to those of you in the know, they really don't hold back in the difficulty department. To earn this game's platinum, you'll have to power your way through "World Tour" mode, a collection of difficult missions that are structured around some of Superbeat: Xonic's most challenging (and not so challenging) charts. In one mission, you might be expected to play a chart with modifiers that randomize the positions of the notes or disable HUD elements while the next has you fighting for your life trying to keep up a 95% accuracy rating. Thankfully, the difficulty curve is gentle in the beginning as World Tour guides you through three gradually escalating levels of difficulty, so players of all skill levels can jump on board and improve at their own pace. 4 TRAX difficulty features low-complexity charts delivered via two lanes on the left side of the screen and two more on the right. 6 TRAX features higher complexity charts across three lanes on the left and right, while 6 TRAX FX features the same six lanes, but with added shoulder button inputs and even higher chart complexity. In 2018, I began my ill-fated journey through World Tour mode and pushed, with every bit of determination I had, through to the final set of three missions. All that stood between me and the platinum were some of the game's hardest 6 TRAX FX songs. But I quickly hit a wall. These charts weren't just hard, they felt like insanity incarnate. I could barely process which notes I was seeing let alone muster the rhythmic dexterity to play them without devolving into a button mashing mess. I felt like no matter how much I practiced, no matter how much I bargained with the rhythm game gods, I wasn't getting better... I shelved the game in frustration and moved on to other things, though it would always linger in my mind as unfinished business. Once or twice a year I'd redownload the game, try my hand at those last three missions, and angrily delete the game again. This cycle had gone on for almost six years until 2024's attempt... I downloaded the game, perhaps for the 12th or 13th time, and stared at the title screen as the music blared through my headphones (you see, the game is very loud at normal volume levels for some reason) and thought, "this time will be different...", though I'd carried that same optimism and probably muttered those same words on previous occasions. Instead of battling those three missions head-on as I'm normally tempted to do, I took the more sensible route of building my skills up with more manageable 6 TRAX FX charts in Free Play mode. I'd set aside 1-2 hours each night to practicing and hoped that my skills would improve organically. And, thankfully, they did! After 20 or so hours spread out over the next several weeks, I'd built up the skill needed to clear the first major hurdle: the Crazy Max mission. The satisfaction I felt after knocking one of those leviathans out after six years... it felt good, man. In the days that followed, I dove straight back into practice and knocked out the next mission, Xonic Master, after 4-6 hours of effort. With one mission left, I braced myself for the hell that was to come. The final mission demands you clear one of the hardest charts in the game with a 95% accuracy rate and no HUD. I threw my 1-2 hour a night routine out the window and began to binge the chart like there was no tomorrow. Two days later, with numb hands and a feverish resolve, I conquered the last mission in the game: Aftermath. This "unfinished business"—this agonizing cycle—had finally been broken and I couldn't be more thrilled! If you enjoy a challenge and have the patience to get torn up by rhythm games, consider giving it a shot!

    Update time for card number two! Granblue Fantasy: Relink - I love this game to death. A linear, story-driven game that morphs into Monster Hunter once you get into the endgame. Deep customization and upgrade paths, great boss battles, fun combat. A 9/10 experience for me. Daxter - Another PSP platformer. Not amazing, not horrible. Unicorn Overlord - A faster paced Fire Emblem meets Advance Wars. This game deserves way more love than its been getting. Vanillaware doesn't miss.

    #315: A Cooper's Pride - Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus Before Jin Sakai and Cole Macgrath there was a raccoon critter that has a family history of thieves and his partners in crime being a turtle and a hippo. Confession: I never played any of the games even on the PS2. The most I did was watch my cousin at least play the first one since I don't remember if he played the other two. I know they got remasters on the PS3 but I didn't play them either so this getting trophies on the Classics was a prime opportunity to at least play the first one and right another wrong. I suspect the reason I didn't play them on the PS2 and PS3 was because I had the close minded idea that they were too kiddy looking but now that I finally got to play the first one I feel like I missed out. I know I'm preaching to the choir but it's a very charming game with a simple story and premise. The levels aren't very long but they offer different kinds of gameplay elements that are short but sweet like the racing and the turret/shooting segments. If anything I was surprised at how precise and comfortable the driving felt to where it felt good to steer the van and you aren't constantly crashing into other things because of awkward controls. I know the driving isn't meant to be a big focus but I still find it amusing that a game from 2002 managed to make driving mechanics that feel ideal whereas some games even today can't despite having 100x the budget. God knows what a nightmare it would be if this had the driving mechanics from something like Just Cause 3. The bosses were also charming in their own way and I appreciate their fights being something different. My favorite one was probably Mz. Ruby since I wasn't expecting it to turn into a rhythm kind of game. Clockwerk is the only one I really remember from watching my cousin play it and I like that he's a robot owl, and as AVGN once said, owls are cool. Other than that the trophies I guess are sort of different from the HD version where they make you do ten Master Thief Sprints. As expected with most time trial related things I didn't like them and I feel like if they added one change to them I wouldn't have minded them so much. The time limit felt a bit strict and it felt like you had to take shortcuts that weren't intended in order to pull them off. I'm not joking when I say with one of them I got a final time of 0.1 seconds left despite doing what I assume were tricks to skip through certain sections faster. I feel like if they had it be a thing where if you hit other hourglasses on the path or defeating an enemy you get one or two extra seconds on the timer added it would have made them not as stressful. I figure that would at least be fair considering if you trip an alarm the timer goes down quicker. But I guess I should be thankful that despite that there is the rewind feature which helped somewhat in regards to the time trials. It would have been a lot more frustrating without that I think. The rest of the trophies are pretty simple with beating the story and collecting the bottles to unlock the safes. The bottles were pretty easy to find with me only needing to use a guide for one of them that was hidden in a spot that I didn't think to look. The few miscellaneous trophies didn't take very long and again the rewind feature helped with that a lot. So yeah, a short but great game from the PS2 era and it would be nice if the other two games could get included as well since I think I read a lot of people love the second one as well.

    Final Fantasy Rebirth Difficulty: 8/10 Enjoyment 9.5 Time to Complete: 141 hours What a Journey! Im relieved, exhausted, and happy that I finally achieved the platinum for this game. In terms of what the game is asking from you to get the plat is rather demanding. A huge step up from FF7 Remake in terms of scope and time commitment. The thing is if you were just playing the main story missions, dabbling in some side quests, and some mini games the game can reasonable be completed in about 60 hours or so. However, when your trying to go for the Plat than the time commitment can easily jump to 100+ hours depending on how successful you are with the VR missions and mini-games. OH MAN the Mini games! I can appreciate the developers wanting to give us consumers more bang for our buck and have plenty of content to sink our teeth in. Though "too much of a good thing" really rings true as I feel they went overboard with the amount of mini games you have to engage with. The two trophies that are the most demanding are easily 7 Star Hotel and Virtually Renowned. Speaking about the VR missions I am convinced the developers had a bunch of sh*t talk thrown their way about how easy FF7 Remake was, or how FF16 was also too easy, Square Enix makes games for toddlers and etc. Cause the Brutal and Legendary VR missions are NO JOKE. Especially Bonds of Friendship. The enemies in these challenges have been way over tuned compared to Remake with massive health pools and inflict damage to the point you can barely recover from. Though I'll speak more about my gripes later on. The Good: The story and characters are what brings this game truly to life. For those who played Remake and the OG its like seeing your friends again after a long time and diving into their journey. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing them interact again and never once was a I bored with the story beats. The world also is much more expansive. From the desert, towns, and jungle you really feel the world is alive and the variety on display is impressive. Music also once again is amazing, each area has its own theme and feels distinct. I loved the Gongaga jungle theme and recommend anyone to give it a listen. Also "No More Promises" is an endearing theme song. The Side Quests also give us more great character interactions which was a big plus for me. Combat is just as good as Remake if not better. Now you have synergy attacks that you give more combat options and the new materia are much better than Remake. Though they did nerf HP Up and MP Up as well as making "aga" spells costs 2 ATB but didnt feel it to be too much of a handicap. The Not so Good: I already mentioned how the VR missions especially the Brutal and Legendary challenges over tuned boss fights so wont go into it to much. @Optinooby has an amazing guide on FF7 Rebirth which I used and I highly recommend. His builds are very efficient and strategies are sound. With some proper execution and RNG luck you should be able to accomplish Hard Mode and the VR missions with his guidance. Thank you @Optinooby you are a True First Class Soldier. So my only real gripe I have with this game and the requirement for the platinum is 7 Star Hotel which is practically asking you to almost 100% the game. If it wasnt for this trophy the game would be less than 100 hours. You have to engage with almost all the mini games and for some do it twice on Hard Mode. This WILL test your patience and resolve. Now certain mini games are easier than others while the hard ones can be very unforgiving. Like zero chance for mistakes. I'll go down each Mini game from Easiest to Hardest based on my experience. Easy Mini Games: - Chocobo Race: This mini game is like mario kart kind of with chocobos. I did it with Piko cause she's the fastest and her boost ability can usually keep you in the lead. My tip is always collect the blue balloons first to build up your max speed and take advantage of short cuts. The annoying Cactaur gates can be annoying but once your familiar with the track you should have no issue. Overall I had fun and was never frustrated. - G-Bike: Its easy. Try to kill all the enemies and collect as much tokens as possible. - Desert Rush: Just follow a youtube guide for the most optimal route and execute. Have first strike materia just to have an early ATB. Should be easy. - Dolphin Show: Personally found it easy. Maybe restarted twice just to get use to the controls and the best route to take. Any youtube guide will help. The top score is very achievable and game allows room for error unlike other ball breaking mini games. - Moogle Mischief: Not to bad assuming the AI its too dumb when your trying to guide the moogles into the safe zone. I personally had no issues and maybe restarted once or twice on the last stage. Pirate's Rampage: Follow a youtube guide for the most optimal targets to shoot in what order. Not to bad maybe some retries depending on your accuracy skill. Run Wild: Not hard, just be patient and take your time guiding the ball with red 13. Galactic Saviors: Pretty easy and dont be stingy with your bombs! Moderate Difficulty: Queen's Blood: Ah the card game mini game. Now I have never played any card game like Magic or heck even Pokemon, so playing a card game in a video game no less I wasn't excited for. However by the end of it I did enjoy it for what is was. The Deck I used leverage tonberry king and mindflayer, you can find a guide on this deck on youtube. It basically won me all Queen's blood matches. The 2 biggest challenges with this is beating the Shadowblood queen and the Nightmare challenge in Golden Saucer. You will need some luck on your side unfortunately as the game is RNG based with what the AI does. I personally sweated more with the Nightmare challenge since there are 5 stages to it. 3D Brawler: Challenging not because of Sephiroth cause his moves are pretty telegraphed once you get use to him but its the damn Shinra Manager. His attacks kinda look similar so it can really throw you off which one to dodge. The Pause and React exploit still works great and prevents the challenge from being too frustrating. Jumpfrog: I personally found it frustrating for both stages. No room for error as if you get smacked by the bar once you're done. A lot of RNG and luck so no real strategy but Try and Try Again. Fort Condor and Gears + Gambits: Big tip play in Easy mode in the main game so even when you play hard mode in these mini games it be still easier. There are plenty of youtube guides out there to help. Can be frustrating at times depending on the AI. Fort Condor was a bit more difficult compared to Gears. The Hard Mini Games: Now these 3 I found the most difficult as they allowed almost no room for error. If you screw up its an instant restart. Gilde de Chocobo: The final challenge! its getting the last 2 rings which will get most people mad. There is a trick where half way through the track you U-turn back to a fan boost to get extra height and resume the course. But the last nose dive and pull back will take some practice and luck because if you dont release on time you will overshoot the 3rd last points ring, and if you pull back too early then you wont have enough height for the last 2 rings. Also, you MUST hit all rings for enough points. So once again no room for error! There are youtube guides but once again the last part of the course is where most people get stuck with. Good Luck! Cactaur Crush: Aerith.....................WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS CHALLENGE. Argublely the character with one of the worst movement in combat is doing this challenge. Yuffeie was pretty simple but Aerith was annoying. You have to switch between light/dark wards depending on the cactaur and dodge a ton of attacks to boot. This will take a few tries and you hope the big cactaur do a lot of bodyslams so you can do meaningful damage and finsih in a fast time. Crunch Off: THIS, THIS is the hardest mini game. Jules is the true final boss. If you hated the Chin up game in remake , you will hate sit ups now. You CANNOT MAKE ANY MISTAKES. Jules will almost always hit about 50 sit ups so if you cannot get more than that you lose. You make 1 mistake, YOU LOSE, you cannot catch up to Jules. THIS ONE DEMENDS FLAWLESSNESS. My biggest tips for you is to turn off adaptive triggers, turn off the volume, and count out loud 1, 2, 3, 4 to establish your own tempo when pressing the buttons. Also, the mini game might start left to right like L1, R1, R2, L2, or might go right to left R1, L1, L2, and R2. STICK to one so you can establish muscle memory. If the game starts in a direction you dont like just restart. Another tip once your at around 14 reps, you can definitely speed up your tempo, try to go as fast as possible while keeping the tempo stedy. This is how you will get at least 51 reps to beat Jules. Best of Luck!!!! Overall if your playing this game without going for the platinum its an amazing worthwhile experience. A true 10/10. However if you are going after the Plat you are in for the long haul. I personally loved my time with FF7 Rebirth and my love for the story and characters kept me going to get the Plat. Just mentally prepare yourself if you undertake the challenge and dont be afraid to take a breather. This is a marathon not a sprint.

    MILESTONE #200 #200 - Cyberpunk 2077 ( Platinum + 100% DLC / PS5 Version ) - Never Fade Away ( 2,4% Ultra Rare / 15,84% Rare ) Time to 100% the Game : 120 hours Completed in 3 weeks, 4 days Difficulty : 2 / 10 Game Rating : 8.5 / 10 Personal impression : I am very glad I played this game after the latest major content update. I had never played it before, skipping it at release due to poor reviews. Now, after hearing from everyone how great the game has become, I can absolutely agree. It was totally worth the wait, and I had 120 hours of pure fun. The combat system is awesome. The storyline, with its various endings and ending missions depending on your choices, is impressive. Each ending is great in its own way. Most of the side quests are a lot of fun, each with its own little storyline. The relationship between the main character and Johnny Silverhand is very intense. Overall, it's a great experience, and I would recommend this game. It's not the best game of all time and not a perfect 10/10, but it's a solid 8.5/10 for me. I have to deduct 0.5 points because of the vehicle controls. Despite all the patches, driving still feels clunky. Riding a small motorcycle sometimes feels like driving a huge tank. Another 0.5 points are lost due to the population density in the open world. Sometimes the world feels empty, with not many people walking around or going about their business. Lastly, I have to deduct another 0.5 points because some side quests are pretty boring and repetitive (killing someone or collecting something), and I experienced three major game crashes during my 120-hour playthrough. But as I already said, all in all, it's a really good game to play!

    And another one done. I am on a roll in this event. 😅 Hi-Fi Rush Awesome game. I already expected this before playing it but I was still hesitant to buy it. Why you might ask? The trophy list is basically a copy paste of the worst trophy list in the history of trophy lists: Devil May Cry 5. I don’t want to play through the game 5 times. S rank all difficulties 5 times. Do the Bloody Palace, I mean Rhythm Tower 2 times. There should be a rule that difficulties stack. Although I have to say, it wasn’t that bad playing through it this many times. The game was a lot of fun. I guess I will do DMC 5 next. 😂 As for the difficulty, it wasn’t bad at all. The only thing I slightly struggled with was BPM Rush Ex. Where you play at 200 BPM, and need to beat 7 increasingly difficult waves of enemies. I really had no idea what the hell was going on on screen. I usually died at wave 5 but the first time I got past it I beat the mode. More completions incoming soon. The goal is to finish 10 games this year. I better get to it.

    NBA 2K24 (PS4) [ - 1.59%] Tier #1 DmC Devil May Cry (PS3)NBA 2K23 (PS4)UFC 2009 UndisputedNBA 2K24 (PS4) Initially, I was going to obtain the platinum trophy for NBA 2K24 right after NBA 2K23's platinum trophy. However, as my PS3 Super Slim's Blu-Ray reader/lens got broken I sent it for repair and immediately cleared off UFC 2009 Undisputed. Now, I've got the chance to obtain the platinum NBA 2K24 on the PS4 version, and I will no longer be stressed that the game will get removed from the PS+ Extra service in August. Obtaining the platinum trophy for NBA 2K24 took me around 99-100 hours, with no money spent, and was easier and faster to obtain than 2K23's platinum in my experience, but, after the Kobe Bryant MyTEAM Collector reward incident, and the game left a sour taste on my mouth considering the trading passing away and the legend of Kobe Bryant (in which I've started playing this game specifically of my admiration for Kobe Bryant and Mamba Moments, as soon as it got announced on PS+ Extra). Two game modes concerned me the most when starting this game, MyCAREER and MyTEAM. Fortunately, later down the road, 2K made Holo cards more accessible thanks to an exchange event, in which you need to trade 10 Gold NBA '23-'24 Season Series 2 players for a Holo Exchange Pack. This heavily eliminates the RNG aspect for Super Shiny and makes earning the trophy without any frustration. MyCAREER felt more grindy than 2K23's MyCAREER, as you need to complete 174 Virtual Rivals quests in total (don't let this number fool you as interacting with the NPCs is also considered a quest, so the actual playing NBA Season Games or Virtual Rivals matches are approximately 2/3 of this number). Almost similar to last year I've also built a PF 6'7" Inside-the-Arch Thread build (however my 2K23 build was a PF 6'7" Paint Beast) so that my build could score from the 3-point line, and also grab defensive rebounds. As for the Virtual Rivals matches themselves, I've followed a strategy where I've made one of my teammates "Pick & Fade" my defending opponent player, to make them slow down, and create openings to land 3-pointers. Once I've reached around 6-12 points scored, I either followed the mentioned strategy or once the AI tried to double-team against me, I passed the ball to one of my open teammates and let them finish the job. These strategies helped out immensely on All-Star difficulty games and against Three MJs on Superstar difficulty too. The other two irritating trophies can be Theater Hopping (Getting 3 steals while defeating the Three PG13s Virtual Rivals team) and Anything You Can Do (Either assisting or finishing 5 alley-oops while defeating the ‘13-'14 Los Angeles Clippers Virtual Rivals team) but since these matches are replayable at any time, you can always retry the matches once you have better stealing or passing stats etc. so there shouldn't be any stress for miscellaneous stuff in MyCAREER.

    Hi there rarity Chums and Chum-esses... ...long time no see! So, I'm still on a bit of a rarity lull this year (not that many of the games I've been going for are below that 5% threshold)... ....but finally got one to add to my (rather anaemic 😂) list! Balatro (current Rarity 1.13%) That Poker themed Roguelike you've heard about, and wondered "how can a game hat looks like a video poker machine from a run down airport in 1992 be that popular?" Well the answer is.... because it is super well balanced, incredibly deep and interesting, charmingly and deceptively simple, but with depth and nuance that allows for a million different clever builds and strategies, and forces so much trading off, on-the-fly strategising, maths, tactics, care, attention and out-of-the-box thinking that it never gets old... ...and combines it with a near-crack-level, borderline dangerous rush of dopamine adrenaline and addictiveness! A hell of a game - highly recommended for fans of card and board games, Strategy games, Deck Builders and Roguelikes! So, my paltry 2024 list so far: Tier 1: Final Fantasy VII RebirthPunch ClubBalatro

    ----PLATINUM #119 | Ghost of Tsushima---- Ghost of Tsushima! Ok, this was a awesome game. combat was fluid and nice with just enough brutality and gore that appeal to many players The sound effects and music is also just on point throughout this whole game and dlc There is also tons of activities and collectables to get, this is basically assassins creed samurai version haha. Not nearly as many collectables in Tsushima though compared to other games like AC: Valhalla, etc The story is very intriguing and fun to witness, voice actors are very good on both English and Japanese, i wish however that they would've leaned into something like a karma meter though, f.eks make cutscenes change or dialogues change depending on if you play with honor or without honor for example But i am happy enough with what we have, just a thought on what could've made this more enjoyable for me I know a lot of people have the same opinion as me about a karma system though My main complaint for this game would be that there is no way to skip cutscenes in your first and main playthrough, yes experiencing the story is nice and all but taking away your player's ability to save time and skip dialogue and cutscene sh*t and side quests and even boring parts in the story is such a dogsh*t donkey move from the developers part that i actually had to take nearly a year break from this game. But when i came back to it recently, i finished it with little trouble although i still found it annoying to have no skip feature Luckily there is a skip feature in New Game+ All in all i recommend this game for all ninja/Samurai/assassin lovers despite it having some massive downsides when it comes to time saving xd I would probably do it again if i had to Here Are My Ratings [DLC INC] ----------------------- Enjoyment 7/10 Difficulty 6/10 Music 9/10 Story 8/10 Platinum+DLC Took Me 120 hours

    Finally have some updates. I've finished APB: Reloaded, and Sanctum 2. This is a very old free to play MMO that is similar to GTA, with you creating a criminal character or an enforcer of the law, and getting cars and weapons and so on. I think it probably was decent enough as a f2p game when it launched on PC around 2012, but it has not aged well. It was probably quite outdated when it was ported to ps4 as it is. Textures are very bad sometimes, and they keep loading and unloading. Even on ps5, long loading times as well... But there were still fun moments. However, the trophy list is not very fun. It's a big grind, that thankfully got its time stimate down to about 50h or so when a new method was discovered... for grinding 10k kills. Basically, you reach notoriety level 5, so you can kill people in pre-lobby, where you can spawn right in front of enemy players, and massacre alts. You can also be killed like this, even by teammates, so the randoms are a big problem. And the no-lifers are so, so annoying. I get they just want to play the game normally, but they are still jerks in how they act. Apart from the 10k kills, getting 500 roadkills is a bit of a pain. The rest is miscellaneous little grinds. When I discovered this game, the guide on here stimated 400 h (writer didn't finish the game, seems more like 200h according to other people before the new method), and it had at least one 0.07% trophy. When I got them, the lowest was 0.12%. Still my rarest trophies so far. The game is shutting down on the 2nd of August (not on PC) and is already delisted. EA gave many months of notice thankfully. What a gem this was! This is a ps3 port of a pc game that combines tower defense, with fps! It was both fun and challenging. Highly recommend to check it out. You play as 1 of 4 characters with unique skills and main weapons, solo or co-op, and have to build mazes and place a variety of towers, to help with waves of enemies that aim to destroy the core (an energy ball that you have to protect every map). The right perks are also important. Teamwork is necessary. At the beginning of each map, you are shown 1 to 2 comic style images with the story, which was alright to read them all back to back at the end. It's not the main focus at all, but it certainly had some nice drawings. And the music is good too. There are little easter eggs here and there and overall it was pretty fun. You can tell they put passion here. Unfortunately, the PC version received DLCs or updates that are missing on the ps3 version. The main objective here trophy-wise is to beat all maps with all 5 feats of strength activated in co-op, which is indeed a feat. They are things like: enemies continuously heal, move faster, attack faster, have more health, and you can't respawn until the round is over. There is also one for beating the final level with 4 people. Some maps were pretty hard, specially since you can fall off the map or be pushed off and that could end the attempt sometimes. We had to change characters, perks, tower and maze placements, until it all clicked. The maps are well designed mostly, and there is enough variety with towers, weapons, maps, and enemies to where it doesn't get boring. Although, it was better to overcharge 1 or 2 towers, than to use many weaker towers. It's fun to figure out the best mazes and tower placements, and satisfying to see them all die to a good, powerful tower, specially bosses. I believe this is a great addition to any hunter's profile That's Tier 2 done! As for Tier 3, I'm going to finish RWBY and Star Wars Battlefront this month, and possibly Phantom Blade but I'm not sure. Danchro will be done by late August or September during Anniversary. Maybe something will replace it first.     Back again so quickly after my long hiatus earlier with Borderlands for yellow. This game has been on my profile for 10 years and I was shockingly close to the platinum trophy. My original PS3 with this game's data YLOD and I had just written off this game as something I'll never platinum due to the fact this is a 15 year old PS3 game and I was missing one viral online trophy requiring you to play the game with someone who already has the trophy. Last week I had randomly clicked the game page and found the boosting sessions held by the incredible @CypherNova139 to help players obtain this viral trophy. After I got it, I only had seven more to go. Six were very easy, taking a combined hour to get all six. One of the trophies, (reach level 50), would normally take 2 playthroughs to reach, but thanks to a leveling exploit I never knew about before, you can achieve this in the first area after just a couple of hours. I'm very thankful for that. I don't know if I would have the patience to do two playthroughs for this trophy. Couldn't tell you much else about the game since I played through it 10 years ago and things are fuzzy, but I remember enjoying it.

    It's been about 4 months since I posted here as I was working on other community events but I finally have an update with a couple more completions. My goal the last time I posted was to try and make a western or weird west theme, however I don't think I'm going to have the time I need to flesh that out so I'm just going to go with random completions. For both games the phrase "expectations are the thief of joy" captured my experience. The first game is Evil West for red. This is probably the worst game I've played all year, and I'm sad about it. I have a real soft spot for the Weird West subgenre. I currently have Hard West, Weird West, and West of Dead downloaded onto my PS5 ready to play and I've been eyeballing Alder's Blood for purchase as well. All Weird West games, so I was hoping this would be a good time. Unfortunately, many of the cutscenes, voice acting and dialogue choices were cringe and hard to watch or listen to. It felt like I was watching something that was trying to emulate an early 2000s action movie and also trying to be a "B" movie. The jokes didn't land and none of the scenes had any emotional weight to me. It felt really outdated. Also the bugs were pretty bad. I ran into an unkillable enemy bug in my Evil difficulty run and no matter what I tried I couldn't fix it. Restarting checkpoints or the game wouldn't help. I blew it up with explosives and its invisible ghost kept attacking me as its physical body lay in pieces on the ground. I started to sweat wondering how far back my cloud save was to see if using that would fix it. I finally shut down the playstation and come back to it at a later date and that worked, thankfully. The second game is Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth for orange. The game isn't bad, in fact it's quite good, it's the kind of remake I would dream about as a kid. The problem is more that it is a mismatch between me and what the game asks for completion. There are a ton of minigames and I don't really like minigames. I also have a very limited time (1 to 1 1/2 hours a day usually late at night) to play games any more and I was getting frustrated with them. I don't find racing chocobos, or playing rts minigames or doing cactuar crush or chasing moogles or whatever else, very fun. I started not enjoying my time spent with all of these activities. So I had to change my approach, when I got into a minigame heavy section I would only spend 15 minutes a day playing them, then play a different game and that helped improve my mood. Once I got past them things were a lot better. Where the game was great for me was the VR combat sims and hard mode. My brain was absolutely WIRED while playing these. They were some of the hardest things I had done in games and I would stay up way past my bedtime trying to progress. Even though they are an order of magnitude more difficult and more frustrating that any minigame I really couldn't get enough of it. I probably played more Rebirth in the last two weeks than the last two months because I enjoyed it so much. I just hope they don't make the third game even more difficult. I'll be in my mid-40s when the next game hopefully releases and I don't know how well my hands will hold up.

  34. [EVENT] PSNP Kaleidoscope Challenge 2024!

    Update! Deep Purple - Cosmic Star Heroine for her deep purple outfit. Feels a bit borderline, but the purple and red really pop out to me in the picture so I thought I'd throw it in. Moved FF4 to regular purple with it's flexibility. Cosmic Star Heroine was a simple, straight forward turn based RPG based in space that involves three different planets to traverse and explore. Great checklist on steam's website to make sure you don't miss anything. Combat had a neat wrinkle in that abilities mostly had a single use unless you used a defensive ability to reset all abilities. Combat rewards those adventurous enough to explore how to combine abilities, buff's and debuffs to deal massive damage. If you are an old school turn based RPG fan, this is a relatively safe recommendation. I played it on Vita, which is the console I'd recommend for it's complexity. Next up?! A mad scramble to finish Neir Automota prior to my physical copy of Baldur's Gate 3 arriving. Nier would replace PGA 2k23, and BG3 will eventually replace Brothers. Still have to find some time to play Spider-Man 2 NG+, both FF16 DLCs and Unpacking to finish out the list. Heres to the next 6 months of gaming!

I won't add much with next game since Grime will just replace my Light Blue (and the DLCs are Blue and Maroon) but I already know what to play for Tan and Brown. Bet you were hoping this long-gestating literary monsterpiece died aborning with my recently departed old phone, weren't ya? You ain't that lucky, pardner... you're here reading this instead of doing something constructive, now aren't you? And to add to your misfortune, what with the original being now stuck on a functionally vegetative phone, this is in fact not the seventh best video game review/real life ramble you'll read all day... this is just a tribute. Now, for those innocent souls coming into this one cold as a penguin's pancreas, I would suggest you read the first part of this review duology (reviewology?) so that you don't have to feel like you've just begun watching LOST starting from Episode S02E07: "Michelle Rodriguez is Ratings Poison". ...Oh, who am I kidding? Such an analogy is fundamentally inapplicable to a show that was clearly written on the fly by bormless goobs with the long-time narrative planning acumen of a bust of Susan Lucci sculpted from the deflicted toe jam of a Monctonian swamp weasel with morning sickness! When the hecking JOKER deigns to spend not-so-precious moments out of the mercifully final hours of his life calling you out on your sub-CoCoMelon amateur hour narrative structure bullsh*t, you know you done G-O-O-F-E-D, you hyucking nimcowpoops! ANYWAY, the consequences will never be the same unless you give my previous foray into Crate Tossing a good long read-a-long, so will you just go do it already, will ya, huh? (And don't feed me some prevaricatory sob story about having better things to do... we all know you spend your nights feeding spoonfuls of pocky scungilli to your body pillow of some alarmingly youthful generic Japanimated girl from some generic Japanimated franchise. Sad, AND wasteful.) Full disclosure: while this is technically a review of Crate Toss' non-godfatherthreeian trilogy-capping adventure on a decidedly godfatherthreeian video game console, said game is also part of a convoluted story that figures into my plans to semi-retire from the Hunt, and it would be a disservice to something not to tell it. ...Weeeeeeeell, I suppose it is just indefensible self-indulgementitude, really. Consider it a kind of... exorcism, if you will. I cannot confirm nor deny that there will be pea soup vomit. Alright, so... having had a Hades of a time with the origins of Crate Toss and become a true convert to Ye Olden Ways of Chainbladery, you'd think I'd be right on board with Gotta War III: The Quest for Skibidi by default, right? Well, actually, I was a little hesitant... many series lost their way on the (questionably) good (unquestionably) old PS3, some seemingly forevermore... far be it from me to risk the retroactive taintage of good experiences. But once you've got one penny for the ferryman, you've got to get 'tother. Except when it's a gershderned hassle. And besides, by a funny trick of fate... ...I already owned the thing. So partially due to a certain problematic pathogenic pandemic and an inherently flawed business model destined for inevitable failure, one day... my local GameShop closed up stop. Wait, strike that, reverse it! Funny story about the ol' GS... I hardly ever patronized it, other than in figurative terms when they started becoming largely a vendor of trashtacular ticky-tacky merch for DUH GAMERS (TM)... end stage gamepitalism by any observable metric. Come the day of proverbial GameStoppage, with the cunning and ravenous scavenger's instinct of a buzzard with nought to eat but Circus Circus buffet leftovers for six months straight, I deigned to peruse... on the off chance there might be some treasure left in the rubble. Whelp, I don't know from treasure... but for whatever reason, I ended up being a big old blind bag of stuff for less than the price of a Big McDonald's... a NINETIES Big McDonald's. Classy as I am, I will refrain from remarking upon the deftness of choice of a hefty bag as the container for its contents, which were, and I quote: six sports games with vitrified online components; a Foxy the Pirate Fox plushie with strategically placed stains of an unknown origin; seventeen Call a Doodies that may have all been the same game being that no man living can tell them apart; a pristine copy of something called "Gamma Attack" which was immediately transplanted from one trash bag to another; and, you guessed it, you bolshy big-brained boffin... God of War III & Knuckles! And so the fated day had come. I readied my Second Breakfast of ambrosia, Dionysian wine from the Seven Boetiean Cellars of Wonder, and Post Rice Krinkles, in preparation for the prerequisite protracted preamble such a game invariably proffers... carefully but resolutely inserted the disc... and... Nothing. Naturally, my immediate assumption was the PS3 having done a PS3... but to its dubious credit, it had never actually failed to launch a sufficiently unscathed disc before. And so I checked for scathage... and scathage, there was. More scuffed up than Batman's gauntlets after having blocked 834 slasharoonies from Ra's al Ghul (I'm enough of a nerd to correct certain sequential art ignorami for mispronouncing his name, MISTER NOLAN, but not to correctly stylize it, 'cause that's goofy!) and/or Deathstroke. Most likely the result of some careless kid with no respect for the possession his parents worked so hard to buy to instill some fleeting sense of happiness into their listless offspring doomed to a future life of AI maintenance, or something like that, I figured. Thus, rather than exploding in some overblown fit of heavenward rage befitting of our beloved deity-murderizing franchise, I decided to try and handle it like the sane rational adult I shall never be... like, switching to Stoic Overdrive mode type sh*t, ya? I bought a sack of crap, and crap is what I got; Caviar of Endor and all that! Womp womp womp. So it was off to eBay to look for a copy didn't look like it had been used as a coaster for the copious psychoactive indulgences of Doctor Jimmy and Mr. Jim. As you might have surmised, it would be equal parts anticlimactic and mendacious to claim the story ended there... despite the disc's condition being beyond reproach, just like your average senator, 3 just would not read it! I won't lie, that did fill up my Overdrive meter more than just a bit... but there had to be more to this. Donning my researcher's cap shaped like a cuckoo clock, a-researching I did go... and discovered to my chock and surprise this particular game had a history of just plain not booting depending on the print run. Of all games never to be released digitally, it had to be one that fell into the sub-one percent of the PS3 game library relevant to my interests. Ho ho no, there are no coincidences in this potential simulation that constitutes what we perceive as reality, friend... not a bit of it! And they will never... eeeeeeeeeeever fix the bugs...! A glimmer of hope, however faint, presented itself in an Essentials reprint said to be more reliable in acting like a video game and actually f*cking playing, so... you wanna take a wild guess as to how that one turned out? BING!!! Lookit here, ain't you on heckfire today with all the guesstimacating! And as for the contingency plan of the GOW Saga reissue? If you can Adam and Eve it, like the sign on the gates of Stand-Up Comedians' Heaven says... NO DICE. Having been thusly drained of my last drop of fortrightitude, the Overdrive meter had finally filled up and was ready to be unleashed... it was time for the world to feel THE BRUNT OF MY UNRELENTING RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!!! ALL SHALL FEAR ME AND DESPAIR!!!!!!!!RAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The rage never happen. I'd been having these weird thoughts lately... thoughts that had been roiling around my head ever since I achieved my meaningless leaderboard goals not too long before... like, is any of this worth it, or not? So as a result of some variation on a Sweeney Toddian epiphany, I realized there just may be more to life than driving yourself nuttier than an Almond Joy suffering the slings and arrows of videogamey vicissitudes. So I promptly chucked my treasonous PS3 in the cupboard, and began to dip my toes in the Pool of Life for the first time in a decent while... resumed my habit of protracted walks... got back to reading my brother's old hand-me-down Batman comics from the Dark Knight's late '80s/early '90s heyday (which are the height of literature, as you know)... reconnected with old friends and new (you know who you are)... and generally just living a life largely free of... well, just largely FREE, full stop... inasmuch as any of us can lay claim to freedom in amongst our lives of moribund consumerist bondage. If you seek proof, look no further than to my Huntly activities of the remainder of 2022... which are humble and episodic by anyone's standard, especially my own. For the first time in a while... there was Life. However... ...Ghosts of the Past do e'er linger, much akin to the haunting cursification imparted by a Morgul blade to the... anything? Perhaps spurred on by my recent singular experience with Ghost of Tsushima, a dormant fire was rekindled... and my Mind Palace suddenly gave me to know one last last ditch effort I had not previously considered... if the disc is not the problem, it must be the console! So I had me a notion of borrowing my brother-in-law's revised model... and... well... I'm here talking to you now, ain't I? Don't go all mental wicken-chuss on me now, Einstein! Now, the more well-informed among you will remember repeated references to a qualitative upward trajectory evident in the first two games. Well, you'll be happy to hear not only does it maintain enough steepness to foil the Secret Service... said belaboured metamphora could well rival the daunting slopes of Mt. Olympus itself! Much like a certain shield of legend, damn near everything has been polished to a mirror sheen by an indisputably talented fellowship of artisans who have meticulously weighed the pros and cons of their previous workings... and ended up with a joyously lopsided scale! There's indomitable flow and dynamism from the moment you fight a Poseidon in his gargantuan multi-headed water horse spider form, and it hardly ever lets up from there. Combat and movement feels ever more fluid and responsive... and despite the ever-present dependability of the PLUME OF PROMETHEUS!!!, the compact and applicable nature of other options--a veritable greatest hits of series combat, with the odd winning twist or two--render them a more enticing prospect than ever, and so anyone who falls into the complacency trap is shortchanging themselves but good. Judiciously placed puzzles provide a nice breath of fresh air rather than drag the pace down. Even the collectibles get within a hair's breadth of bounding the realms of pure intuition, helped along by the deft mechanic of a proverbial Eadhay of the Avigatornay to suss out the odd illusion wall. Link, get outta here with them ghetto ass bombs, ain't no finesse to that sh*t boy! All in all, a fine missing link to the largely self-contained standard for virtual trezer huntin we know and mostly love today, as compared to the sometimes needlessly opaque collectionary shenanigans of the PS2 era. A victory for immersion by any metric. Now, I know you are as tired as I am of my ceaseless gushing optimism for all things at any time, so let's balance things out by just a smidegon. Having now played the entire Greek Saga, I have to confess the plot and characters may never be my cup of tea... but they got admirably close here. The more realistic aesthetic allows for a more grounded and visceral tone compared to the admitted limitations of our beloved PS2 and slightly less beloved PSP, which lent a kind of inherently hammy arcade-ian pallor to the proceedings. The writing similarly adds more believable inner life and motivation to a pantheon of largely tragic and pathetic characters bound for a one-way Pain Train to Doomsville. Giving Crate Toss something more to fight for than revenge alone was a commendable move, but only serves to highlight how easy it would have been just to make him more sympathetic from the off. Well, if his keeping his Spartan reserve during a certain mildly recalcitrance-inducing escort mission doesn't count as character development, by golly, nothing does! Snatches of potentiality flicker brightly here and there... for the future, if not always the present, it being a little too late to right the ship and all. But lending some small touch of humanity to superhuman deities and their inscrutable Eschatological mind games is far from easy. But... siiiiiiiiiigh. I could have just really done without being forced to sacrifice a harmless innocent to solve a puzzle, you know? What, was the dev team replaced with the makers of Duke Nukem Forever for a day or something? I guess I'll forever struggle with the cognitive dissonance of loving Crate Toss for the man he became, rather than the man he was. I suppose the creators' own misgivings about the mistakes of the past do count for a lot... the redemptionary triumphs of future games aside, the removal of a certain bit of rampantly sociopathic trophy "humour" bespeaks of a self-evidently maturing collective of minds. We're all on a journey here... it is what it f*cking is. I am technically reviewing the PS4 remaster here as last year I was all burnt out on the whole situation... hell, I didn't even feel like giving the time of day to the spin-offs, as predictably good yet predictably formulaic as they were. but I thought I'd throw a certain console a bone and remark upon how genuinely impressed I was with its technical aspects. Frame rate aside, few improvements were made, or indeed needed. This little ol' hunk of scrap, with its hundreds of games forever treading water in a Sargasso sea of underpowered hardware, ill-advised rebootage, and the charmless "earth tone" fetishism emblemic of its ignoble era, rarely if ever commands merit two console generations later... but yeah. This is the genuine real sh*t, bro. Truly a game worth a stack... ahem, if you can get the f*cker to boot, naturally! I may have had the lesson I needed to reprioritize my life and am now going Hunting at a much saner pace... but should Sony someday see fit to unleash these games (rather than their equivalent of Neutopia 2) from their wholly undeserved bondage to obsolescence, I will be there day one to toss some crates... because Crate Tossing is for life, boy! Speaking of life, sorry for having wasted 86 years of yours with my random drivel... learn to read faster, dummy! Well, I'm off to enjoy mine... so Merry Christmas, and Boomshankah, yah wankah!     ----PLATINUM#117 | BALDUR'S GATE III---- Ahhh Baldur's Gate 3 was absolutely amazing, visuals on point, graphics on point, sound effects on point, immersion on point, even the story was just mmm so good! a total masterpiece of a game, i think the only thing that could make it better was if our mc had a voice. But then again that would probably break the immersion aspect for some players idk Obviously this game is quite hard if you have zero experience with turn based games, but if have some tough titles under your belt like ''Wargroove'' it should not prove that menacing even in honour mode I will note that throughout most of my honour run i was not playing very optimized in terms of items and scrolls, witch goes to show you can make quite many mistakes before it's fatal, and honour mode is only required if you're a 100% gamer like me instead of a platinum only type of person. Honestly i had such a blast, watched all cutscenes, got interested and looked up lore. Needed like 2 or 3 playthroughs i don't remember and invested a lot of time to this game There is also a lot of diversity in terms of class, race, playstyle, combat, roleplay etc. It's like you're always learning but feel knowledgeable at the same time I recommend this game for all people who like a challenge and also like turn based games, this is a very unique one though so you will probably like it even if you don't play turn based games usually.     15/16 done and I already have my final card ready for when I finish my next game. Time to go throw salt over my shoulder, rub a bald man's head, or go talk to a leprechaun at the end of a rainbow or whatever to make sure I didn't just jinx myself. Anyways, adding Wild Arms for Maroon. If you feel this isn't dark enough Doc, let me know and I'll find another game, but I felt like it contrasted well enough with the pink in Tinykin and fulfilled the spirit of the challenge. No hard feelings if you disagree! My overall thoughts on the game is a bit mixed. The beginning of the game was really interesting. I really liked how the game broke up the 3 characters' stories and had them meet up together after playing through all 3 of their introductions separately. It's just a really unique concept that you just don't see much anymore and really enjoyed that surprise. However, as I continued the game, I started to feel the age of it a bit. The slow and drawn-out animations of battle and the inability to speed it up, the frequent random encounters, and the overly-long dungeons in this game where you would just run through one room to another stairwell and then do it again 4 more times until you got to the end of it while being peppered with random encounters that the game inexplicably constantly denied me from running away... It got old quick which is why I decided to put this game to the side for a while. The story was okay, but it didn't grip me like The Legend of Dragoon did and just couldn't keep me around. Hence, why this game took me over 11 months to complete. HOWEVER, the game recovered a bit in the second half of the game; there's a very important part in the story where the main character gets severely injured and reveals a secret about them. You learn more about their past and the surrounding characters come together to rally around them. It was at this point where I felt like the story started to get more interesting and started to get my attention. It was also after this point where you learn ADVANCED spells where you get spells to teleport from town to town (to decrease the slog of random encounters) and a spell to DECREASE ENCOUNTERS which I spammed for the rest of the game. This made the game so much more enjoyable to play as backtracking no longer felt like a chore, I was able to get through the overly-long dungeons quicker, and since I was more invested in the story, I didn't get too bored or burnt out and was more motivated to grind out levels when I needed. Overall, I think I would still give the game a 6 or 6.5/10 and put it in the C (it was alright) tier, but I definitely felt better about the game towards the end than I did in the middle. If you are into old, classic RPGs, give this a go, but if you hate aged or old RPGs like the older Final Fantasy games, this probably isn't for you.

    Halfway through the year and I've made some very good progress Tunic has been done Green and tbh i completely walkthrough-ed it. Was fine for what it was but not my sort of game Toem was completed fir grey and boy oh boy i loved this game. such a unique concept and i had a lot of fun playing. Highly recommend it for anyone needing Grey Ive started maroon with Balan wonder world but im just so unmotivated to play it, so i may come back to it later? also willing to take recs for maroon as it is the only colour where im unsure.

    Ok, funny story... My original plan was to move Tinykin to pink, add A Short Hike, and finish Wild Arms to fill in Maroon (It's pinkish maroon, but since Tinykin is so light, it works perfectly). If I would have done this, it would have left me with the two best, unsavory colors in the kaleidoscope.... yellow and brown. What actually happened was I stumbled upon The Pedestrian before that happened and ended up finishing my yellow game instead... so much for a good ole toilet joke... Anyways, I did decide to move Tinykin to pink and add A Short Hike for orange and think it fits quite nicely. I also finished The Pedestrian which now just leaves me with two colors. I guess I can still save the best for last (brown) and still get a nice poo joke in there somewhere, but it doesn't feel as great as having just yellow and brown left... Coming back to my finished game, The Pedestrian is a very short puzzle platformer where you run between signs, connecting certain ones together to collect certain items and open up paths to new areas. It's charming, but I'm glad the game wasn't a 10-hour game. I feel like with puzzle games with a few gimmicks should not outstay their welcome, and I feel like The Pedestrian and The Gardens Between did a great job of this. Weirdly enough though, the end of the game plays a little differently and kind of wish there was more of that. It was pretty fun! When it comes to puzzlers, I don't think it quite matches the charm and story of The Gardens Between, but I had fun with it nevertheless. Last year, I squeezed out a card in the final month with about 10 days remaining and this year we are halfway through, and I'm almost done and have a bit of a gameplan to finish this one. It's also going to be really weird when I finish this one and already have half another card finished. Part of me wants to go ahead and fill one out, part of me doesn't want to start filling one out or I may forget about my original one. I am also debating if I should change games on this one to make the most eye-catching, impressive card possible or if I just leave it as is? Huh, choices... may just be lazy and leave as is. Haha. I actually have a few impressive plats that aren't included in this card because I'm just filling it in as I go and the easiest games tend to get finish quicker. Maybe my next card will be more inspiring when it comes to difficulty or maybe the PS classic catalogue will continue to control my game time.
