The matchup is always important regardless of year and record, but not since 2006 has an Ohio State-Michigan carried this much importance in terms of who will play for a national championship.
Last year's game, though, is up there.
Michigan snapped a near decade-long losing streak to the Buckeyes when the Wolverines upset them in snowy Ann Arbor. Michigan went on to win the Big Ten championship game and play in the CFP, losing to Georgia in the semifinals.

The Ohio State-Michigan game has been a signature game for the "Big Noon Kickoff" show since it started going on the road in 2019. The game was likely to be aired in 2020 on FOX, but Michigan canceled the game due to a COVID-19 outbreak.
